My Tally:
March 1st: Started the Random Acts of Kindness Campaign!
March 2nd: Visited a friend in the hospital and brought flowers.
March 3rd: Glamourbombed the park with a message of love written in the snow. Also cleaned up my mom's kitchen while she slept (she had surgery on Monday).
March 4th: Purchased homemade tutu’s on Etsy to bestow on three very special little princesses.
March 5th: While in my car in a parking lot a woman approached me (scared the shit out of me) and said her cousins car was out of gas, did I have any money. Normally I would assume it was really for drugs and send a person like this on their way, but I gave her the benefit of the doubt and all the money I had.
March 6th: While in-line with my purchase, the lady next to me was very disappointed to find out that her purchase wasn't a part of the "big sale", so I gave her my 40% off coupon. She saved more than I would have anyway.
March 7th: Gave my niece a collection of sown seeds to take home and watch grow in cute little pots.
March 9th: Gave a cookie log to my Mother-in-Law.
March 10th: Payed for the car behind me at the drive-thru.
March 12th: Brought 2 new bags of puppy treats to the newest four legged member of my extended family.
March 13th: Reported a shoplifter to the manager of the store I was shopping at. I don't know if the person stopped was happy about it, but the manager was grateful.
March 16th: Brought my mother coffee.
March 17th: Distributed 3 wish tickets
March 20th: Brought tulips to a friend.
March 24th: Handed out a couple tu-tu's.
March 27th: At a Lia Sopia party, I bought a necklace for one of the t’weens in attendance with her mom instead of buying something for myself.
March 30th: Gave my Mother-in-Law a pretty spring flower wreath for her door.
Donated to SpiritPhoenix's Susan G Komen 3 Day Walk.
March 31st: Brought cookies to my Aunt and Uncle.
Never mind LOL figured it out :)
ReplyDeletehttp://goddessofmoons.blogspot.com/ woohoo I ♥ this idea...
I find this entirely way to amusing as I just did a random act of kindness.
ReplyDeleteI was in the process of moving and was selling my guinea pig cage and many other things that go along with owning a guinea pig. So I posted it on craigslist and was contacted by several people as I asked for the best offer. Although I did get many monetary offers I ended up giving it away for free to a woman. The reason being is that she was a single mom and was desperate in that her "male" rabbits just had babies and she needed the cage to keep the rabbits separated. She was so thrilled and surprised that she even gave me a hug (which in this day and age very surprising between two absolute strangers). I was just so happy I was able to help her.
This is the best idea! I like to pay for the person behind me in the Tim Horton's drive thru - it's usually a coffee and doughnut, so it only costs around $3 and leaves a stranger with a smile!
ReplyDeleteSnagging your button!

Hello
ReplyDeleteToday I handed all of my pocket change to the two elementary school aged kids behind me in line at the "Stop 'n' Go". They were buying a couple sodas and two candy bars and didn't have enough for both. As they were deciding what candy to put back and how to divide the remianing candy, I dropped I-don't-know-how-much change into the one kid's hand and left the store. I was five steps away from the door when one opened the door and said 'thank you'.

I love this idea..I am going to share it on my blog as well..I love seeing strangers being kind to one another for no apparent reason..
ReplyDeleteI know this won't count, but I bought my bunny a new home yesterday, as she outgrew her first one. She loves it..it is almost twice the size and she can now lounge..I'll have to post a pic.. sorry..I'm rambling.. but thanks for this idea. I will get started :)
The button is now on my blog :)
ReplyDeleteI saw one of those vans with the "How's my driving call 1-800-......." He was doing a fine job navigating the wet roads. So, I called and told the operator that the driver was doing a wonderful job.
ReplyDeleteBrought in good coffee for the office.
ReplyDeleteI've got my button up and am looking forward to this!!
ReplyDeleteHow cool is this?!?!?!?

Ok so my first random act today was.....I shared my highly coveted Girl Scout cookies with the Little 80 something year old patient laying in the hospital bed. The smile of pure joy at getting a shortbread cookie made my day :) that and I am sure there was a giggle there when I handed them over.
ReplyDeleteI also gave the act of kindness in that I saved the babysitter a trip to the store to pick up boopboop's (Momma speak for Arnica) Beth had wisdom teeth pulled last week and is still healing from that, and the Arnica helps alot and she did not have any...so I gave her mine. :)
ReplyDeleteHere is my blogged Moment :)

~this is a brilliant idea! such simplicity to bring joy to another...we have done the coffee before and brought flowers to a neighbor each week in the morning prior to her chemo treatment...when she finished months later she came over and thanked us...saying she dreaded those days and then soon looked forward to walking out the door and seeing flowers...small bit of sunshine brought to her...i very much look forward to doing this and having my littles ones participate as well...what a way to renew ourselves and welcome spring...now off to post this on my blog...many thanks for the inspiration & brightest blessings~
ReplyDelete~just added your button and did a post reguarding your random acts of kindness...brightest blessings~

i posted your button on my blog ! ( down on the right)http://mamafey.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteYesterday I sent my Daughter a cute little inspirational card and some goodies. Not something i usually do since we talk every day (er live 4 hours apart) .. can't wit till she gets it as she has no idea it's coming.
ReplyDeletetoday i was at the hospital to have tome test done. and as i was leaving there was an older woman getting out of a car.. she wasn't to steady on her feet and I asked if i could help her in. She kindly accepted my offer, took hold of my walker ( i can't walk with out it) and off we went into the hospital waiting room . I got her to a chair and waited with her ( she seamed a little confused) till the person who drover her came in and was with her. I didn't even wait to be thanked, I just left with a smile on my face because it felt so good to be able to help some one.
ReplyDeleteI also sent the neighbor kids an anonymous card with a photo of a couple snowmen they built, thanking them for making me smile and including a little gift card from Mc Donalds..
ReplyDeleteI posted about this and the other 2 acts on my blog here
http://mamafey.blogspot.com/2010/03/march-random-acts-of-kindness-month.html
My daughter's friend was just over, and the girls were talking about dressing up as their favorite book characters in school tomorrow. The friend is dressing up as Alice from Twilight, and was saying that her father (her parents are divorced) was supposed to give her money to buy vampire teeth, and hadn't, and that her mother didn't have extra money so she wasn't going to have them. I slipped her money to buy the fangs...
ReplyDeletethanks for making me aware of this, I'm not sure it would have occurred to me as readily. You're helping to make me mindful, and I think a month is long enough to form a habit I will be happy to have all year 'round!

Today's act was to bring my oldest Bestie lunch at work...she had a full day and really did not give herself time to be able to run out and get a good lunch. Sooooo TK and I went and got her some of the best Indian food...yummo...and dropped it off at the office. She was totally surprised :)
ReplyDeleteHey Ho all Kind Folks, I cleaned out some toys & books that were still in good condition but not in use and passed them on to the neighbor girl.
ReplyDeletehttp://goddessofmoons.blogspot.com/2010/03/indian-food-delivery.html
ReplyDeleteBlogged :)
Today as I walked into the local grocery store, I saw one of those bubble gum machines that had the gigantic gumballs. You know, the type that costs 50 cents a go. I got one and enjoyed it so much as I did my shopping, I thought perhaps someone else would also enjoy one. One the way out of the store I put two quarters in the machine and left. Hope the next person wanting a bubble gum fix enjoyed it as much as I did.

For day 2, I grabbed a dollar bill and handful of change and sprinkled it about our little appalachian town.
I brought in snacks to share with the department.
ReplyDeleteMy act today was to make a home cooked meal for the whole family...yes I know that does not sound like much but as of late we tend to go out to eat (ever since my MIL passed away last year). That in itself has challenges lol when your taking a 2 and 1/2 year old. So instead I got up early and started my home-made beef stew and let it cook all day and my family (Hubby, TK, FIL, and MeMe-SIL) all got to sit down and eat a warm comfort food meal and we enjoyed each others company...oh and I also stopped early this am and grabbed fresh bread so double yummo.

ReplyDeletemuah.....
Tody I gave away a bike. It was my daughter's pink tricycle that she has outgrown, and it's been sitting in the yard, neglected. I gave it to some neighors who have a toddler... they were so happy!

ReplyDeleteI work as a florist and am always kicking in some change when the customer is lacking..
ReplyDeleteI was happy to blog about this! It's posted for March 3 on http://Wiccamoms.com. I've been twittering as well, but you didn't specifically mention extra entries for that. Hey, doesn't that make twittering a random act of kindness?:)
ReplyDeleteI'm insisting that my husband Matt do this too, because I've decided it's wonderful cognitive therapy:) Expect some posts from him as well!

Today I rented one of my most favorite movies (beatiful girls), since I own it, I walked into the parking lot, opened the case, popped out the dvd and tucked a fiver under it. A nice Easter Egg for the next person to rent it.

Oh and I adore the concept of weaving magic into domestic life! wey hey
What a beautiful idea!
ReplyDeleteToday, as I was pulling out of my driveway to go to a meeting, I was stopped by an elderly gentleman. He told me that he and his wife were locked out of their house, and asked me to drive them to a local auto service center where he'd accidentally left his house key with his car key when he'd dropped his car off for servicing. I'm usually wary of strangers, and I was running late as it was, but he seemed so desperate and his frail-looking wife was sitting in their driveway on a lawn chair, shivering in the cold. I thought about just calling the police to come help, but I couldn't leave them out there. I ended up driving them to the service center and waiting while they got their keys back. Luckily, their car was nearly ready, and they opted to wait and drive themselves home, so I gave them my cell number in case something happened and they ended up needing a ride. I was really late to my meeting, but it was totally worth it. It turns out that they are Holocaust survivors who attend my family's synagogue. They were so lovely, and so grateful. I've been down in the dumps lately, and performing this act of kindness lifted my spirits, if only for a little while.
When I told Fae (my wiccamoms.com parter-in-crime) about what had happened, she told me about your post and made me promise to come here and comment. So here I am. Thanks for spreading the love!
Today I brought in Bagels for the Ladies at work :) which was a good thing seeing as it was a crazy insane day and for some of us it was the only thing we had time to stop and eat....
ReplyDeletehttp://goddessofmoons.blogspot.com/2010/03/bagel-bite.html
ReplyDelete~on the 5th i changed my ways a bit...we were out running errands and i was feeling pressed for time and hurrying all around...not really being aware of others...it was the moment i just about took out an ederly person that i stopped and realized how unpolite i was...that did not make me feel so great and what the heck was i teaching my little ones about being courteous...so i apologozed to the woman and for the rest of my day...i was aware of others around me...let them go before me...paitiently waited...let cars merge in front of me...i was POLITE!...brightest blessings~
ReplyDelete~today i was made to a gift for a friend...i have it all packaged and ready to be mailed in time to arrive on their 1st anniversary....brightest blessings~
ReplyDeleteOh my, what a lovely idea! A small act of kindness goes a long way.
ReplyDeleteIt may sound odd but I make a point of smiling at people in the street. They nearly always look surprised and then smile back. I bumped into someone on the bus the other day and they commented that they knew me thanks to my smiling at them. Apparently, it had helped them on a day they were feeling low. I felt honoured to have helped someone I had never met.
Another small act of kindness, I took my favourite mini chocolate eggs into my work and shared them out. Everyone was cheered up by it.
ReplyDeleteI will be popping your button onto my blog :)
About a year ago my turtle Jack (aka Jack In The Box, Jackie Brown or Jack the Funky Terapin) got very sick. I didn't know that turtles should be kept under heat lamps. I went out and bought a day time and night time lamp as well a timer to turn them on and off. Jack didn't get better and after we had done all we could for him, with heavy hearts and much love (and some tears) we had him put to sleep.
ReplyDeleteSo today as I was going to the mailbox to get my mail, the neighbor kid mentioned his turtle wasn't doing so well. I not only told him (and his mom) the name and location of my vet I gave him all the lamps and timers I had from my freind Jack.
So this Random Act wasn't for another person, but for a turtle I don't know. Hope it counts. :-)

So today's act of random kindness was important to me....made me feel better as a Nurse and as a person. We have a 92 year patient that is on Dialysis and unfortunately with the Dialysis the patients tend to have horrible cramps, esp in the legs. There was not much I could do for the legs but I went in and rubbed his back as he was sitting on the edge of the bed. He is not my patient, I just know he is suffering and wanted to do what I could to attempt to make him feel better in anyway...and if spend that 5 minutes out of my crazy day and helping him would do it then I was going to try. I may not have taken away the pain but I did distract him for a bit and that helped him :)The power of touch astounds me always.
ReplyDelete~last night...i placed a bid on a piece of art from inspiration avenue charity auction...fingers crossed!! brightest blessings~
ReplyDelete~just did a post about random acts of kindness as part of my 52 projects...
ReplyDeletehttp://tofallorstumbleupon.blogspot.com/
many thank yous again for creating suhc an inspiring way to go about our days...brightest blessings~
Friday the 5th - used the Prayer of Compassion with everyone I came into contact with. More about it here: http://namaste-heather.com/2010/03/02/kindness-matters/
ReplyDeleteLeft an extra quarter in the gumball machine for the next person to find. ;-) so simple
ReplyDeleteToday I took a walk. Smiled and greeted all I came into contact with ;-)
ReplyDeleteLove this idea, Dom. Witch!! I always love your ideas! This project got a little lost in the shuffle as I recently moved my blog to a self-hosted venue, but I'm trying to get on track now, one week in!
ReplyDeleteThanks for spreading such positivity into the world!
On Saturday afternoon (still light out) I flashed my lights to a few people, letting them know to slow down because a cop was sitting a half a mile up the road. (A nice driver did the same for me.)
ReplyDelete~yesterday we brought a bottle of wine to dinner as a hostess gift...i am often the one who hosts and i sometimes forget how sweet it is when someone does a little extra as a way of acknowledging the hard work and efforts put forth in prepairing their home and foods...she was quite delighted by the simply gesture! i will be making a point to do this from now on whether i make something or buy something simply...i WILL bring a little gift...brightest blessings~
ReplyDeleteSo I meant to blog this last nite...but got to compfy on the couch with Hubby watching the Oscars....Sunday's act was one I brought doughnuts to work...to make the day a bit sweeter. And I also gave a new Mom (on of our nurses) some advice as well as homeopathics to help with her little one as I has heard she was at her wits end (her little guy is breastfed~yeah~ but when she goes to work at nite he would not take the bottle from her hubby; thats a bad thing because he is going without anything for like 14 hours.) So hopefully it will work for them the things I brought for her.

ReplyDeletethere will be more to come tonite :)

I made an apron from a vintage linen place mat, 3 vintage linen napkins, added a packet of flower seeds to the pocket and sent it over to a neighbor we barely know . I posted about it here
ReplyDeletehttp://mamafey.blogspot.com/2010/03/goodies-and-apron-for-march-random-acts.html
Today I was on my way to work to get my TB test and right before I got ready to leave I got a txt from one of my co-workers..."My eggo is Preggo" I am so excited for her and her Hubby...I stopped at the local florist on the way to work and bought her a beautiful flower arrangement and ballon...she was soooo surprised :)
ReplyDeletehttp://goddessofmoons.blogspot.com/2010/03/preggo-eggos-and-flowers-they-get.html
ReplyDeleteblogged :) I am getting the hang of this ....
Gave little toys to neighborhood nippers. The little tubs of playdough were appreciated. Maybe not by the mom so much?
ReplyDeleteI get approached by homeless dudes for money all the time, being in a city. I usually give them granola bars instead...but today I was out, so today's guy got a dollar. He had a terrible speech impediment, so I couldn't understand very well, but I think he was asking for a quarter for the bus, and he did head toward the bus stop after.
ReplyDeleteI bought breakfast for the lady in line behind me at the Tim Hortons' drive-thru. I told the cashier to tell her "Happy Tuesday".
ReplyDeleteI've been kicking in the money for peopls who've gone over on their grocery bill..
ReplyDeleteThe packet of my cereal prompted me to email them to let them know what I thought. So I did! It's very nice cereal and super healthy too. I wrote them a very nice little note singing their praises and told them that listening to the little sound bites on their website had made me late for work. They wrote back and said I had made their day! How cool is that!!
ReplyDeleteToday's random act was more for me and my Little one....We went to the library and seeing as the weather was amazing we went to the park across the street. TK was having a hard time manuevering the mud landscape so I took the imp to a nicer park that was a bit out of the way of our next stop after park time. She was so happy though because she got to run around and not get stuck in the mud. Doing these acts has made me more mindfully of others and what I can do for them.
ReplyDeletehttp://goddessofmoons.blogspot.com/2010/03/todays-random-act-was-more-for-me-and.html
ReplyDeletethe weather is amazing right now.....
Well..not sure if this counts, since they aren't "human"..but I refurbished a birdhouse and filled it with seed. Also put a little mini well filled with seeds out for our feathered friends. Not only do they get food and a spot to rest, I get to see them out my window when they do :)
ReplyDeleteOh and I also made my hubster breakfast for dinner last night! A rare treat and he loves it!! :)
ReplyDeleteI supported both a student organization and my daughter today. An Education fraternity at EMU is hosting a Scholastic book fair. I bought a really cute book for my little one. "Skippyjon Jones the the Big Bones."
ReplyDeleteToday's act was to take time out of my day to help my 16 year old neice with her college application so that she can hopefully get into a special program at MCC that will allow her to graduate with her high school diploma and an Associates degree in the next 3 years...she is in 10 grade right now. It was not something I had to do but I want her to have all the best possibilites she can...and it had to be done today as the application was due tomorrow and her Mom is slammed at work...so fingers crossed...she takes the Compass exam on the 20th.
ReplyDeletehttp://goddessofmoons.blogspot.com/2010/03/college-and-so-much-more.html
ReplyDeletetime well spent....
My mother (known here as Mama Feoneafaey) warn almost insistent that I enter my random act of kindness. I "performed" this act yesterday without even thinking of this nifty contest or blog.
ReplyDeleteI work in a building on a large hospital campus in town. There has been a grat deal of construction and people have been parking anywhere they can find. Yesterday as I was leaving work after a very long day, I topped the stairs to our parking deck and saw lying on the wet ground a cell phone that looked like someone had dropped it out of a pocket - the battery and back casing were laying next to the phone. I stooped to pick the pieces up and began to dry them on my coat. A co-worker walked past and after asking what i was going to do simply said "if you have to" and walked away. I remember thinking "I don't have to, but I can and I will."
After putting the phone back together and turning it on I went to the contacts and dialed "home" without really planning what I was going to say. It rang a few times and then a woman answered the phone. After a second of stammering I said "I'm not sure who I am calling, but I found this cell phone in the parking lot."
It turns out that the phone was her husbands phone. He most likely didn't know he had lost it, since he was at the hospital visiting his father. We made arrangements for me to leave it at the Security desk of the main hospital (which required just a few blocks drive on my part) and her husband would pick it up later.
She was very gracious that I took the time to do such a thing and the only thing I could say was "I hope your husband's father is better soon." I hung up the call and drove to security.
I didn't expect anything in return, I just know that if I lost my phone, especially with a family member in the hospital, it would make a stressful situation worse.
Maybe this isn't a random act of kindness, but if I don't post it Mama will be sad. =]
~tuesday a charity for those who are disabled came back by and picked up another 5 bags of various household items...one mans junk and other mans treasure! brightest blessings~
ReplyDelete~wednesday i snuck a card in my husbands car to let him know how much i appreciate and l♥ve him...brightest blessings~
ReplyDeleteI recently discovered your blog and think this is a lovely idea added your button to start with

Day 8 - # Put money in a parking meter two spaces down from mine today. No one was there yet, so a great treat for when they showed up. Put M’s hair up in pin curls after her shower tonight. I’ve been wearing mine wavy/curly more and she was mad this morning when hers didn’t look that way. Should be great when she wakes tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteDay 9 - My kindness was surrounded by nature today. It is almost 60 degrees and sunny. Beautiful. I took Haize, our sweet male chihuahua, for a walk while Maya (our female chihuahua) stayed home with J. I usually don’t separate them, but since he was home, it was perfect. I also cleaned out the fridge and pantry and fed some seeds and cereal to the birds and squirrels that live in our backyard.
ReplyDeleteDay 10 - Treated my students to a lovely Yoga Nidra practice allowing them to relax more deeply before finals next week.
ReplyDeleteDay 11 - Received my UOWHO Kindness bracelets in the mail today. Gave one to M to use at school beginning tomorrow.

Today I knew that the girls at work would be stressed...so I brought in biscoti and nummy coffee creamer that we could try and sneak a 5 sec break with. Also, and this is a simple thing, the computers at work were acting crazy and only a few were working so I made sure everyone had their medication administration records printed out so they could give care to our patients while we waited for all the compters to come back online. Simple things really but they made the work day just alittle bit easier.

ReplyDeleteblogged :) here....
Today as walked across the parking lot going into school I noticed a large earthworm. It was stranded far any sort of refuge. A bird may get it, or a car ran over it. I gently picked it and walked it the flower bed and placed it under a bush. Even the lowliest of creatures deserve kindness.

ps I washed my hands as soon as I got inside :-)
This is not my act of kindess but one that was done for me.
ReplyDeleteI was running later getting out of work and I saw the bus pull up to the bus stop. I waved at the driver but he pulled the bus away from the stop. I thought that it was leaving but instead he stopped the bus next to me so I could get on!
Made my day. :)
I left my change in the vending machine for the next person.
ReplyDeleteA coworker had requested saturday off for his nieces birthday party. (1st birthdays are very important) Well bossman forgot and scheduled him, so I swapped shifts even though that means ill be working 11 days strait. but it made him really happy.
ReplyDeleteI microwaved the cleaning sponge in the office lounge.
ReplyDeleteWhile I agree with Tim about worms. I draw the line at microscopic things that will get people sick.
So this could be a Kindness and an evil...depending on how you look at it. ;)
This was my act of kindness for March 12th...was to tired last nite lol to blog: I got to work and no-one wnated to go home because thay all would have had to come back to work at 3pm...So I volunteered to go home....but that was not my actual act...Oh no I had a much big plan...I contatced my Sweet Dawn and because I knew she had been feeling lonely and missing her hubby I took her out to breakfast...then went and did a surprise wake up call for our other YaYa Kelly :)

ReplyDeleteSo March 13th act was a simple one...Hubby HATES cleaning the kitty litter box...so i did it for him as I was cleaning the laundry room...he was thrilled :)
March 14th...a simple act...I made breakfast while my loves were still sleeping...it was just about ready when they got up :) nice surprise for them...as Hubby is usually the one who makes breakfast on the Sundays I am home...
ReplyDeleteI hosted and completed my first blog giveaway for Ostara/Easter. Congrats to Luna!!!
ReplyDeleteI had my brothers, niece and parent's over for brunch. I made a wonderful meal for all of them. It was so nice to have us all around the table again reminiscing and catching up.
ReplyDeleteToday my roommate and I went grocery shopping, I paid the entire bill instead of half. :)
ReplyDeleteMarch 15th...today I worked and there I made it a point to ask my co-workers several times thoughout the day if they needed any help. I was not a staff RN today but in street clothes and still helped as much as I could with the patients that they had. We always work as a team, but it is nice to have that extra pair of hands...
ReplyDeleteBought coffee for the lady in line behind me at Tim Horton's.
ReplyDeleteI am a graduate humanities major and with that in mind I proof read/edited an essay exam for a friend of my wife's. I took the time to talk her over all the test anxiety that goes along with ... well a test. What was almost nothing for me was a big help for a friend. Isn't that the essence of a 'Random Act'?

more catching up to do...on the 12th we supported a local artist who was selling her crafts at my little ones childrens hospital...brightest blessings~
ReplyDelete~on the 13th i BECAME an ORGAN DONAR...i have wanted to register for some time and well now i finally did it!! brightest blessings~
ReplyDelete~on the 13th i also purchased a gift froma fellow blogger from her etsy shop! brightest blessings~
ReplyDelete~on the 14th we support our local farmers and bought our produce and plants~flowers from them...brightest blessings~
ReplyDelete~15th i participated in a customer service phone survey after speaking with a representive...had to evaluate our conversation...brightest blessings~
ReplyDeleteMArch 16th~ Today was a bagel day for the wonderful ladies at work...we work so hard to care for our patients that sometimes I like to bring in the goodie to bring cheer to their day. I am also going to include that I took five minutes out my absolute chaotic day (it was crazy busy at work) and gave my patients that little bit of extra we all always strive for in our daily work but dont necessarily always have the time for when "doing the tasks" I had two patients that could not talk, but they were in there...you could see it in their eyes...a small gesture of a soft friendly hand brushing away a hair from a cheek showed me that one had that smile still in them...the other smiled and nodded his head after we were done doing his dressing change because I rubbed his back as the Dr. changed the dressing and when i asked him "if he was okay"; even though I had been told in report that he did not speak, he gave me a nod yes and a smile. Give Kindness and it shall be returned to you ten fold.
ReplyDeleteI offered to stop and get ice for our St. Patrick's Day party at work. The other lady at work was going to get it, but I figured I'd give her one less stop.
ReplyDeleteMArch 17th~ Let the Hubby enjoy the evening with nothing to do...I took care of the evening house chores. You know the bathing the Munchkin and getting her ready for bed, the straightening up the kitchen and living room, those small things that are just time consumers. This way he got to read the Munchkin her story and do the nitely ritual of brusha brusha :) It allowed him a small bit of downtime to himself....

March 18th~ and I am back on track :)
ReplyDeleteSo today's act of random kindness was to pick up my sister in law from where she is doing her externship for Medical Assistant and take her to lunch and hang out with her for a bit. She works so hard and I hope that when school is done she will be able to get a job as an MA :) She so deserves it. So TK and I grabbed her and then after lunch we went to Petco and Kohl's and just meandered around till it was time for MeMe to go back to the Dr's office.

When to a thrift store with Mom-J today , she was looking at a couple of teddy bear statues and I knew she really wanted them but didn't feel she could afford them.. so I tucked them into the cart under some of my other things where she couldn't see them, then later I snuck them into her bag when we were unloading the car.. She was so surprised when she got home and found them.

While at the Hot dog stand, a man pulled up next to us in a big pickup ... I heard him order just a hot dog and root beer soooo, I got the car-hops attention and told her what I was up to and paid for the mans lunch.. she brought me his receipt which I wrote on it.." You have been touched by the Random Act of Kindness Fairy ... Please pass it on. " and then had her give it to him when he was ready to pay. The man tried to get it out of the car-hop who had paid for his lunch but she said she couldn't/wouldn't tell him because it was against the rules! Mom-J and I giggled like goons all the way to our next stop!..

Wednesday (17th)
ReplyDeleteWrapped up a set of crochet topped tea towels with a note to another neighbor who is elderly - (yes even older than us..LOL) - and had my hubby sneak over when all the lights were out at her house and tuck them in between the outside and inside front door .. I didn't sign the card . Just simply wrote a little note that said .. "Just a little something to let you know we are thinking of you. We hope the blessings of spring bring many joys your way each and every day."

So my roommate and I are living in a motel right now and we're moving out for a week while we go to North Carolina to visit our friend. Well while packing up our stuff, we also went through our stuff to get rid of what we don't really need or use anymore and donated them to the Goodwill down the street. We're planning on getting a smaller room when we get back anyways now that the third roommate moved out :)
ReplyDelete(though lemme tell you my roommate is awesome cuz she feels bad for the cleaning lady here, so she's going to scrub down the room before we leave in the morning so she has less work to do)
March 19th~ made an out of the way stop to bring the Man her stuff that she left at my house...that silly woman...this way she would not have to go out of her way later to come get it :)

ReplyDeleteBlogged with an awesome pic of Miss Hottness :)
My Ostara Give-Away is complete; I selected the winner just an hour ago! I will be mailing this out as soon as the winner contacts me.
ReplyDeleteOstara Blessings :) that is what has inspired my acts today. But the first one i've completed today was Bringing Cookies to my favorite wafflehouse. Those servers always take really good care of us and I thought they deserved something nice for them :) But the day is still young :)
ReplyDeleteMarch 20th~ So todays act was of the eeewwwwiieeee kind lol it was one of those things that only a best friend would do...I mean what can you do when you get a txt from your Best friend to look at her back because she thinks she has a clogged pore...you have her come over after you just worked 13 hours and pick around at her back of course LOL
ReplyDeleteMarch 21st~ Paid an outstanding bill for a friend before they ever gave me the money to put into my account. One needs electric right? They did give me the cash later on that day but its all about it coming out in the wash in the end :)
ReplyDeleteYesterday I took some time out from writing my thesis to help my father-in-law around his farm. Eight hours of manual labor really took its toll on me. I still hurt a bit today. That however is not the random act. My brother-in-law (and brew buddy) was there to help as well. His wife, my wife, and my mother-in-law went to a stamping show and had taken one of my nieces along for the trip. My other, much younger, niece stayed with us (my wife and I are child-free for now).
ReplyDeleteMy kind act was for my younger niece. I spent the day not only with manual labor, but each time I found a baby snake, a puffball, an acorn or just an interesting leaf I brought it over for her inspection and entertainment. All the living ones were placed bach in the same vicinity they were brought from.

March 22nd~ Took my most favorite Aunt Cindy (Fred's Aunt) out to lunch and for a nice walk thru The Christmas Tree store....it was great to hang out with her and spend the early afternoon just chit chatting and meandering :) It is nice to take someone out unexpectedly sometimes...
ReplyDeleteJust gave a co-worker an entire bag of microwave popcorn. And I even put it in the microwave and started it for her.
ReplyDeleteI sent a cup (of my first batch) of homemade yogurt to my SIL. Oh and of course gave some to the Wee One. She loved it with Agave and Bananas.
ReplyDeleteYou are such an inspiring person! I love this, I haven't checked out my usual blogs as often and so I just saw this late last week, so I took off with my children and visited my grandmother who lives two hours away. She was so happy to see me and it was nice to get out of town for the day.
ReplyDeleteI'm planning to continue this into April and will be posting your badge and challenge on my blog.
Cheers to You!!!

March 23rd~ Was sitting inside Starbucks and got up and paid for the next peron in line in the drive thru. It was a nice surprise fro them...I guess so much so that they paid for the person behind them :) Pay it forward right.... I am loving this.
ReplyDelete30 years ago my in-laws moved into their newly built house. A good freind gave them a Ficus Tree as a house warming gift.
ReplyDeleteFast forward to now. The same friend who gave them the ficus is now their realtor and advised them to get rid of house plants so the house would look more pleasing to potential buyers.
My mother-in-law took the tree and was going to put it onthe burn pile. My wife and I rescued it from the impending flames.
My act today will pay off after they move into their new house. I went to the local garden center with the plant and asked for some help/advice with repotting. They had trouble believing that the tree was 30 years old and had never been replanted. I'll see it gets well taken care of and will give it back as a new house warming gift.

I just bumped into three students at the motorway service station. They are hitchhiking to Budapest for charity. I gave them a lift for about 30 miles... not far in the grand scheme of things but a little bit closer anyway. I had such a lovely chat with them and it really made my journey home more pleasant.
ReplyDeleteby the way... I am in the UK...rather than the US - now that would be a long way to hitchhike!
ReplyDeleteGave a donation of a few dollars to a sorority on campus. After I bought an Arnold Palmer I came back and dropped in another dollar.
ReplyDeleteBought breakfast for the lady in line behind me at Tim Horton's. Though she's probably confused since I told the lady to say "Happy Tuesday" and of course, it's Wednesday. Silly me.
ReplyDeleteCalled another one of those "How's my driving? Hotlines" Complimented the driver. Though this time it was just a voice mail.
ReplyDeleteMarch 24th~ This was an easy one :) TK and I went to the DIA today as our Monthly Educational trip...and we let Hubby stay at home. Now I know that may seem like a small thing but Fred and I usually spend our day off together (We only get usually every Weds and every other Sunday were we both are off all day) But today I let him hang out by himself...so he got to do what he wanted, got to play video games, etc and watch a movie :)
ReplyDeleteMarch 25th - left a dollar at a public bench inside the mall and let all cars in that were turning or needed to into the lane

March 25th~ Work was okay for the first part of the day, then the last 2 hours became a nightmare...and this is where my act comes in. I admitted a patient to the unit and normally if everything is not completed with the admission process it gets passed to the next shift, but I knew how busy the midnite girls were going to be so I stayed and finished everything up and got the patient and his family settled and they were comfortable with the plan of care. Not a big huge act except it meant I was late getting home and did not put my little one to bed...So to me this was an act that helped a family and their loved one who is sick; to feel confident in the care we as a unit were going to provide. I know that I made an impact because they told Suzi who was the nurse for the nite that if I was back in the AM I was to please be his Nurse. This is a great compliment to me and I feel I was able to make not only the work load for our Midnite crew easier but also made the patient and family comfortable.
ReplyDeleteMarch 26th~ Today was garbage day in our neighborhood and the guys living in the Condo next to us were not home (most likely stayed at the girlfriends house lol) so I took their trash and put it out for them as I was leaving for work...
ReplyDeleteHad to delete the other one...screwed up the date LOL
March 27~ Ah now this one is a good one LOL at least it was for the Little Miss TK...normally my daughter goes to bed between 9 and 930pm..very rarely does she stay up past that and it is usually because I am out and about...but not this Saturday Nite...this was all for her. Her Daddie went and picked up Toy Story 2, which she has been anxiously awaiting...and we let her stay up and watch it....a nice treat for my little Miss :)
ReplyDeleteMarch 28th~ Had my Lia Sophia party today and so that one of my YaYa's could get the special something she wanted, I took care of the $....it was not a big deal and she deserves this gift for herself :) AND Yes its a GIFT!!!!!!!!!!!! lol
ReplyDeleteComplemented a random woman on campus about her GORGEOUS handbag.
ReplyDeleteBought a pink ribbon Red Wings pin for my team captain for the 3 Day.
ReplyDeleteLeft my change in the vending machine.
ReplyDeleteComplemented a girl on her disco ball headband. It was really cool. And it looked great on her.
ReplyDeleteVolunteered for a post no one wanted. And ended up having a blast.
ReplyDeleteTook the time to make chocolate dipped strawberries and (fresh) pineapple for friends.
ReplyDeleteI posted once again about this awesome challeng/giveawy here ( will be listing more of my actions after i post about them here shortly)

~more catching up to do...on the 24th ...treated our friends to dinner...they were not anticipating it and when the bill came...we paid!~
ReplyDelete~the 25th an elderly neighbor of ours came over during the day asking for my husband. i told her he was at work and asked if i could do anything to help her...she needed her plates changed on her car so i said i could do it and i did!~
ReplyDelete~26th i made thank you cards for a few friends who have helped me recently~
ReplyDelete~27th we brought and made dinner for my parents and aunt and uncle~
ReplyDelete~28th made a purchase from a fellow blogger from her etsy shop!!~
ReplyDelete~28th picked up the sunday newspaper for a friend who could not make it to the store...brightets blessings~
ReplyDeleteVolunteered to help out my former internship advisor, by interviewing a few sororities. Win/Win in my eyes.
ReplyDeleteMArch 29th~ Was sending a patient home today and we realized her "slipper shoes" were missing...most likely got tossed in the linen when the bed was changed at some point. I went to my Boss and she said, well we can send her home with the yellow slipper socks we give our patients...I was not down with that. So I went to our gift shop and found some cute little croc knock off shoes and got her those. They were not overly expensive and even though my Boss said I could give her the receipt and get paid from the Patty Cash Fund...I chose to just buy them as a gift for the patient...Made her day.
ReplyDeleteI made up the difference for lunch today. We were short $1 and no tip. So I covered it, but the best part is no one knows I did. Shhhhhhh. ;)
ReplyDeleteMarch 30th~ I would love to say that I did something great and wonderful today at work....and I guess in the eyes of my patients maybe I did...but in my eyes I felt like the homeless dog that got kicked....not nice feeling...Yep I found my Breaking Point today. So what did I do today that was a random act...I stopped and picked up dinner and woodchuck hard cider for the Hubby and I so that we could spend the bit of evening time together, and he could be my sounding board instead of having to cook dinner.
ReplyDeleteI let my last group a students leave class a minute early today. The one minute meant that they weren't stampeded. That's a win.

~29th...many asked about one of my posts so i posted a quick tutorial~
ReplyDelete~30th...helped sister write a letter that was going along with a gift to be sent~
ReplyDelete~30th...my little ones friends were over yesterday and i was working on a project...i offered to show them what and how i was doing it and asked if they would like to make one for their mama...so for about 2 1/2 hours we all sat together and crafted away!~
ReplyDelete~31st...my husband brought me home a lily plant last night so i drew him a picture as a way to say thank you for his ♥random act of kindness♥ and snuck it in his car!~
